1. Percussionists should be prepared to play the FIRST 40 measures of all parts in their 'area of speciality':

a. Mallet specialists should prepare the first 40 measures of the 3 mallet-oriented parts (xylophone, glockenspiel, vibraphone, chimes, marimba)

b. Membrane specialists should prepare the first 40 measures of timpani, BD/woodblock, auxilliary, and timpani.

2. Woodwind/Brass players should prepare the entire part but may select which (1st, 2nd, etc)

General Audition Information

GENERAL

Welcome to Drury!  Please read below for important information about the audition process for our instrumental ensembles (wind symphony and orchestra). 

AUDITIONS WILL TAKE PLACE DURING OUR OPENING REHEARSALS (DURING CLASS TIME)-NO SIGN-UPS

 -All students audition at the beginning of each academic year.

-NEW members will audition during the  first week of classes (Wind Symphony=Tuesday, Aug. 19; Orchestra=Thursday, Aug. 21); ALL string auditions will occur on Thursday, Aug. 21; all other returning member auditions will occur both first and second weeks (the fall audition also serves to confirm continuation of your activity grant (if applicable)

-Auditions for the Drury Jazz Ensembles occur separately--please see the bulletin board next to O'Bannon 101 for more information or contact Dr. Tina Claussen.
