How to use the Mobius / Swan Library Catalog

ILL

The purpose of Interlibrary Loan is to borrow books and obtain articles from journals not held in Olin Library for Drury University students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

TIP:

Before ordering a book through ILL make sure you have done a SWAN / MOBIUS search for the book. Remember it takes 10 – 14 days to fill your request through ILL and usually only 2-3 days through Swan or Mobius.

How to Request an Item: method #1

Search SWAN / MOBIUS

If the book you need is not available at Drury, search the SWAN / MOBIUS Union Catalog.

  • From the DRURY search screen, click the button at the top that says "Search MOBIUS" to repeat your search,
OR connect to the MOBIUS Union Catalog and search again.
  • Click on the "Display holdings of MOBIUS Libraries" link in the middle of a record to check the availability of an item.
  • If a copy of the book you need is available, you may request it.
    • Click on the "REQUEST THIS ITEM" link in the middle of the page.
    • Choose your cluster (DRURY is in the "SWAN" cluster)
    • Then fill out the form with your name and student ID number and choose a pickup location.

Loan Period

Swan/Mobius books have a 3 week loan with 2 renewals for 3 weeks additional each time. There is a a 1 day grace period for returning, then you are billed a $120 replacement fee for each overdue book.

Interlibrary Loan books and vidoes/DVDs usually have a 4 week loan period with 1 renewal of 2 weeks. Overdue fines are $.50 per day.

You are limited to having a maximum of 15 items regardless of whether the item is checked out from the Oline library or borrowed through Swan/Mobius or Interlibrary loan.
