Olin Library was awarded a grant from the International Society for Science and Religion (ISSR) for 224 books that bridge the fields of religion and science and contribute to our understanding of both. The ISSR is based at St. Edmunds College, Cambridge, England, and the books were chosen by an editorial board consisting of professors from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Oxford Univ., RIT, Claremont Univ., Boston Univ., Elon Univ., and St. Edmunds College.

These 224 books will be housed together in a single location for the first year as a “Featured Collection”. Look for them in the reading nook on the first floor by the glass windows that lead back to the office area. They’re organized according to a numbering scheme devised by the ISSR, so they are not organized by the Library of Congress Classification scheme we use throughout the rest of the library. When finding a record for one of these titles in SWAN, the location code will read “Drury Featured” followed by the call # devised by the ISSR.

The ISSR hopes these books will circulate widely throughout the state of Missouri, and give Drury students and faculty additional resources to pursue scholarship in this area.

1. Login to your library account; on the side you should see the orange RSS feed icon:

Just click on the icon; I use google as my reader so it automatically pops up and asks me if I want to add this to my igoogle homepage. It should do the same for whatever reader you are using.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the library website. A lot of hard work went into creating this site, including the the great people who helped on the Web Focus Group. We want to share at least some of the new features with you today:

1) Personalization – We have tried to create web pages designed for specific audiences – Students / Faculty / New Library Users. Each section has links specific to your needs including Direct Database Searches!

2) Featured Resources – we will be highlighting our resources so that you can discover new and exciting ways to enhance your research, discover a service you didn’t know about and find tools that can make your work easier.

3) Mobilize – we are creating a mobile version of the library site. We really need help in finding out just what you want to see on a mobile version!

In the coming months, we would like you to help us fine tune this site - so get involved, be a part of the team that makes this site just what you need. Feedback Link ….. Thanks!

•	The library is a portal to the information you need to be a successful college student. You can access our many online resources from anywhere you have an Internet connection using the login and password that you use for MyDrury and your Drury email.

•	The library is the place to go – in-person or online – for the information you need to complete your assignments. The library is one of the few quiet places to study on campus; we also offer dozens of computer workstations and wireless access throughout.

•	In addition to the 180,000 books and 550 periodicals in the Olin Library, our users have access to another 6.5 million titles through an academic library consortium called MOBIUS; you can order a book from any of 50 academic libraries in the state and when it arrives, we’ll send you an email notice that it is here. Several thousand more periodicals and books are available through our many databases and interlibrary loan.

•	A librarian (liaison) is assigned to every department or school. Come in to talk to a librarian, stop by the reference desk or give us a call. Librarians’ contact information can be found in the “Services & Info” section of the library’s Website.

•	Library skills take time to develop and build. Start early and ask questions often in order to become an effective library researcher and successful college student.
