The Library Catalog

An electronic library catalog is sometimes called an OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog).  An OPAC is basically a computerized system for finding out what materials are owned by a library, the call number, location, and whether or not the item is checked out.

We are a member of a consortium (group of libraries) called SWAN (SouthWest Academic Network).  SWAN is in turn part of a larger, statewide consortium called MOBIUS.

As a student, faculty or staff member of a SWAN institution, if you create a login, you may have access to customized features of the library system.

By logging in, users will not need to repeat validation for Web OPAC functions such as placing holds on material.

My Library Account

To get information about your library account:

  1. Go to SWAN/DRURY and select the "VIEW YOUR LIBRARY ACCOUNT" link or use the link on the Olin Library Home Page
  2. Login: Your Name, Your ID # (followed by your institution code. Example: 012345DU ) and your PIN #
  3. From here, you can:
    • See a list of materials you have on hold: click the Holds button
      • You can cancel holds from this screen
    • View a list of all items you have checked out: click the Checked Out button
      • You can sort by due date, renew all, or renew selected items
      • NOTE: materials requested through interlibrary loan will NOT display in this list
    • View a list of any searches you have saved: click the "Preferred Searches" button
      • Save your search by clicking the "Save search?" button next to your search box after running any search.

Always be sure to click the LOG OUT button and close all browser windows when you are done viewing your record, particularly on a public computer, as your record will not be secure if you do not.
