Reference Services
Librarians and student employees staff the Reference Desk during fall and spring semesters for the hours posted below. Reference desk service includes research assistance with printed and electronic resources, at basic to in-depth levels, and some technical assistance with computers and software applications. Librarians, as liaisons to academic departments, provide individual research consultations by appointment or walk-in to faculty and students.
Tours and instructional sessions
The Olin Library offers tours and instructional sessions designed to teach information literacy and research skills. Library tours provide a general knowledge of the location of library resource collections, public use computers, rooms, media, equipment, and available services.
Working with departmental faculty, library faculty offer instructional sessions to all students, to provide a set of research skills and philosophies that will help students effectively use library resources to complete assignments and educational goals.
