                                                      ART EXHIBITION POLICY

                                                                          2009

The walls of the F. W. Olin Slide Library and the lower level lobby have been fitted with molding to facilitate the exhibit of student art work.  The following guidelines should be followed.

1.         Students and student groups will be given preference when scheduling.  Faculty and others will be given secondary consideration.

2.         Shows will run for approx. 1 month each.  A notice will be sent to the Faculty/Staff E-mail discussion list, and University Communications.  Any further advertising will be left up to the student.

3.         Until the demand for shows is greater than the number of shows possible, shows will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

4.         Work must be ready to hang using some method which will allow the work to hang from 50 lb. test fishing line attached to hooks that hook over the edge of molding.  The backs must be finished in such a way that no hardware or sharp/dirty materials will mar the vinyl wall covering.  Students are encouraged to come and view the space, and decide how their work will best fit into the space.  Some 3-Dimensional work may be shown as well, depending on the weight and/or dimensions of the work.

5.         The primary purpose of the space is as a Slide Library.  Artwork cannot interfere with the functioning of the slide library as a place to organize and study slide lectures.

6.         The work may not pose a threat to public safety.

7.         The F. W. Olin Library and Drury University are not responsible for theft or damage.

8.         The artist is responsible for the content of the work.

9.         The student (or faculty sponsor) will be required to hang/install his or her work.
