The APA is the principal membership organization for professional philosophers in the United States. It serves as an important gateway to information about the discipline.

A philosophical practitioner "is a professional philosopher who applies principles and methods of philosophy to client counseling, group facilitation, and/or organizational consulting."

Feminist Ethics and Social Theory is a professional organization dedicated to promoting feminist ethical perspectives on philosophy, moral and political life, and public policy.

Founded in 1990, the ISEE is the largest association in the world dedicated to ethical issues relating to the environment. It maintains the largest bibliography in the world on environmental ethics--more than 7000 entries.
