Introduction

Physics is the branch of science that studies matter and how it interacts with other matter.  It models these interactions as fields (gravitational, electrical, magnetic), as descriptions of forces, or as energy transfer mechanisms.  A common way of categorizing the principal fields within physics is that it consists of condensed matter physics; atomic, molecular, and optical physics; particle or high energy physics; astrophysics; and applied physics
